Take a Bite out of Fall: Fall Offerings at Restaurants
Cierra Brown|Nov 2, 2020
Fall is the season that has those foods and drinks that you crave every year once it rolls around. From apple cider, to pumpkin pie, the flavors in fall are always a special treat. And to nobody’s surprise, fast food chains and restaurants are eager every year to get in on their seasonal fall foods and drinks.
McDonald’s: Pumpkin and Creme Pie
These pies are actually more like a turnover, and they’re filled with pumpkin filling on one side and cream filling on the other. The outside dough is crispy and flaky.
“I’ve tried the pumpkin pie from McDonald’s, because pumpkin pie is my favorite fall food, and it was pretty good,” Patriot junior Mason Balsis said.
Panera: Autumn Squash Soup, Turkey Chili, and Pumpkin Muffins
The autumn squash soup is a blend of squash and pumpkin, and filled with sweet spices. It’s also suitable for vegetarians. The turkey chili includes turkey, beans, tomatoes, and other vegetables and spices. Both options come with a side of a French baguette, apple, or chips. Although pumpkin muffins are year round at Panera, they still fit the fall spirit.
“Panera has amazing pastries and soups,” Patriot junior Meredith Dada said.
Krispy Kreme: Pumpkin Cheesecake Donuts and Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Roll Donuts
The pumpkin cheesecake donuts are glazed, pumpkin spice donuts stuffed with cheesecake filling and drizzled with cheesecake icing. The pumpkin spice cinnamon roll donut is a pumpkin spice donut tossed in a pumpkin spice sugar blend, and topped with cream cheese icing and cinnamon.
“I’d love to try the pumpkin cheesecake donuts, they sound amazing,” Dada said.
Starbucks: Salted Caramel Mocha and Pumpkin Cream Cold Brew
The salted caramel mocha is coffee blended with mocha and toffee syrup, combined with steamed milk. It is then topped with whipped cream, caramel drizzle, brown sugar, and sea salt. The pumpkin cream cold brew is cold brew mixed with vanilla, topped with pumpkin cream cold foam and pumpkin spice.
“I liked the salted caramel mocha so much that I got it every time I went back to Starbucks for the rest of fall,” Patriot junior Miranda Kirchmeyer said.
Dairy Queen: Pumpkin Pie Blizzards
This blizzard is a blend of real pumpkin pie pieces and vanilla soft serve ice cream. It is also topped with whipped cream and nutmeg.
“The pumpkin pie blizzard from Dairy Queen was really tasty,” Patriot junior Anessa Farrish said.
