It has almost been one year since the coronavirus has come into the U.S. and caused a global pandemic. More and more cases are growing everyday, new restrictions and lockdowns are being enforced , and hospitals are reaching maximum capacity all around the country. Right now it is really encouraged to stay home to keep yourself and your community safe, but with being stuck in the house all day, it can be hard to keep yourself entertained. This article provides a short list of some activities to do to keep yourself busy and entertained. It also has some winter movies to watch to keep you in the spirit and maybe give you some new movies to watch or a reminder of some old movies to watch that you haven’t seen in awhile.

This animated movie franchise is about two royal sisters, one being born with ice powers, and the journeys they go through to find themselves and find the friends they made along the way. The Chronicles of Narnia:

The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe- This movie is about four siblings who move into a new home and discover a wardrobe. As they step into the wardrobe, they enter the land of Narnia and befriend a lion who accompanies them to the adventure. Little Women:

This movie is the remake to the 1949 and 1994’s version of the classic book. Four sisters who all have different goals and how they achieve them. This movie came out in 2019 and is available to watch with subscription to Hulu and Amazon Prime.

Harry Potter franchise (1-7):

This famous movie franchise is an adaptation of the books written by J.K. Rowling. It is about a young wizard who goes off to a wizarding school with his two friends and along the way they learn about all the hidden secrets within the wizard world and fight against the evil with it. There are seven movies in total from 2001-2011 and these movies are available to watch on peacock.

Happy Feet (1&2):

This animated movie franchise is about a group of penguins in Antarctica, these penguins find their mates through singing songs. One penguin though, cannot sing and instead has a talent of tap dancing. There are two movies in total from 2006-2011 and they are available to watch with subscription to HBO Max.

Grumpy Old Men:

This movie is about two next door neighbors who have been lifelong rivals and when a woman moves into the neighborhood, the two men go into a competition to win her love. This movie came out in 1993 and is available to watch with subscription to HBO Max.

Rise of the Guardians:

This animated movie is about the immortal guardians (Santa Claus, the Easter bunny, the tooth fairy) who keep the children happy and away from evil. Then, one evil goes on an operation to make children not believe in the guardians anymore and now the guardians must stop him. This movie came out in 2012 and is available to watch with subscription to HBO Max, Hulu, and Amazon Prime.

Cool Runnings:

This movie is about a Jamaican sprinter who puts together a team of ammateur bobsledders to compete in the Winter Olympics and become the first Jamaican bobsled team. This movie came out in 1993 and is available to watch with subscription to Disney Plus.
