With less than two weeks left of school, students are ready to kick off summer with a bang. Here are some great ways to spend your summer!

Go for a Hike
If students want to get active this summer, they should try hiking. It’s a great way to exercise and get fit.

Shenandoah is perfect for hiking because of its wonderful scenery. Some of the trails in Shenandoah include the Fox Hollow Trail, Snead Farm Loop, Lands Run Falls, Compton Peak and the Fort Windham Rocks.

Check the Shenandoah Website for entrance fees and more information.

Visit a Waterpark
While pricey, Great Wolf Lodge in Williamsburg, Virginia is a good go-to. It has restaurants and a lot of other events to look forward to.

For a cheaper alternative, check out Water Country in Williamsburg, Virginia. Local options include Splashdown in Manassas.

Check the Great Wolf LodgeSplashdown, and Water Country for fees.

Go to Museums
Museums are gradually reopening after being shut down temporarily due to COVID-19.

The Virginia Air and Space Science Center in Hampton, Virginia is a great place to visit for students interested in astronomy or just the universe in general. Check the website for pricings and more information.

Another interesting place to visit is The Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. It has the world’s largest collection of natural history specimens and artifacts

There are also many other options to choose from. Most DC Museums Are Free Every Day (Seriously).
