Carr has been the president of the 2025 class for the past two years. Her presidential skills come from
her traits of being a detail-oriented and organized individual. Although she loves her role, she dislikes
the aspect of not getting everything approved, and the certain comments fellow peers can make. Often,
students criticize her for things out of her control like issuing microwaves, and free lunch in the school.
She, unfortunately, cannot override every rule, but she hears the concerns and does her best to
delegate.
Running for class president every year isn’t the only thing Carr runs for. During every fall season when
homecoming occurs, Carr runs for the homecoming court. She has successfully secured a spot each year
since she was a freshman. Her notorious Instagram posts and videos allow her to interact with the
student body by communicating via social media.
“I love being able to dress up and have that moment of like, oh my gosh, it’s just very surreal,” Carr said.
Not only is she the president of the class of 2025, but Carr also holds leadership positions for clubs like
For the Girls, No Place for Hate, and Our My Minds Matter. She is also a part of the Patriot Singers and
has been in choir since the fifth grade.
“Choir has always been a huge part for me,” Carr said. “It’s helped with confidence and has helped me
be more comfortable with just being on camera.”
Many high-achieving students like Carr can get easily burned out and are not able to have enough time
for themselves, yet Carr realizes this and tries to incorporate tasks she enjoys during the day. She listens
and sings to music, has a daily to-do list, and takes the time to talk to her friends and family. She does
her makeup as she finds it to be calming and therapeutic.
“Just always make sure you have that balance and know when you need to chill out and take a break,”
Carr said.
Entering the TV and media productions class to visit her friends sparked a new passion in Lauryn Carr’s
life. A silly joke of asking her to anchor became her new reality as the 2023-2024 school year rolled
around. Despite joining the TV and media productions program late, her background of taking
Journalism 1 allowed her to skip prerequisite classes and become the main scriptwriter and news
anchor.
Carr has always been a natural leader and is not afraid to execute these skills. Her main interests align
with government and business as she aims to make voices heard. She wants to teach young individuals
how to speak up for themselves and educate them on current issues taking place. Carr continues to
work towards her goals of becoming a successful leader and influencing those around her.
